2doors started because the tools available to independent landlords were either too expensive, too complicated, or built for corporate property groups. We set out to change that.
How it started
Prague, 2024
2doors was born out of a simple frustration: a landlord managing 18 units across three Prague districts missed a lease renewal deadline — not for the first time. The workflow was a spreadsheet, a WhatsApp group, two bank accounts, and a folder of scanned PDFs. There had to be a better way.
The founding team had seen the same problem from both sides — as landlords and as engineers who had built property software for large agencies. Enterprise tools were built for teams of 10 and priced for portfolios of 500. The independent landlord managing 5 to 50 units as a side business or second income was completely underserved.
The first version of 2doors was built in three months. A beta launched in early 2024 had 200 landlords signed up before a single line of marketing copy was written. The waitlist made it clear this was a real problem worth solving.
Today, 2doors is used by landlords and small agencies across the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria. Our goal is simple: make property management so easy that it stops feeling like a second job.
